Strengthening Sibley's Future or Leading Sibley Together
What is Strengthening Sibley's Future or Leading Sibley Together?
Exciting changes are coming for next year! Updates were revealed in May, at this year's Graduation. Leading Sibley Together is changing its name to Strengthening Sibley's Future!
Strengthening Sibley's Future is a leadership development program that highlights our county's assets and creates opportunities to build relationships throughout the region. Participants will not only explore all that our county has to offer within each of its communities, we will also bring together leaders from multiple counties to create new, expanded networks wile developing leadership skills. The program began in 2016 and is a joint effort with Sibley County and University of Minnesota Extension Office.
The leadership program is limited to 24 students per year and meets once a month September through May. The program offers five full days of networking and community building that will allow for deeper community exploration, service projects, and network building. The four multi-county learning days will allow participants to go deeper into the leadership content present by Extension educators. Our multi-county days will be paired with participants from Brown and Nicollet Counties. Each county focused day will offer opportunities to reflect on information learned within regional sessions and explore its application within our county.
