Vulnerable Adult

A vulnerable adult is a person 18 years of age or older who is unable or unlikely to report maltreatment of him or herself because of a physical or mental infirmity or other physical, mental or emotional dysfunction that impairs a person's ability to provide adequately for his/her own care without assistance.

 Maltreatment of a Vulnerable Adult

A vulnerable adult is a victim of maltreatment when he/she is subjected to abuse, neglect or financial exploitation.

The Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) is the statewide common entry point for reporting suspected abuse of a vulnerable adult and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call MAARC toll-free at 844-880-1574 to make a report.
